Role

Designer

Harvest Row is a regenerative mixed-use development located south of Grey’s Lake in Des Moines, Iowa. Seamlessly combining residential, commer-cial, and agricultural programs, the project is designed as a self-sustaining eco-system—one that supports life, fosters well-being and actively responds to its environment. Rooted in the principles of living, working, and growing, Harvest Row is more than a building; it’s an urban prototype for the future.
At the core of Harvest Row is a multi-story vertical farm spanning about 600 m², producing roughly 13,500 kg of fresh produce annually—enough to supply around 135 people. Besides supporting local food production, the farm helps regulate indoor climate by cooling and humidifying the space, reducing HVAC loads. It also serves as a vibrant social hub, fostering community w, education, and connection to nature through accessible green spaces within the atrium.
